The biggest of the big box store companies said it will roll out 19 fully autonomous FoxBot Class 1 electric forklifts across four of its distribution centers.

🔹The project is being closely monitored by executives on both sides as part of a multi-year agreement with an eye towards a wider deployment of the robot forklifts coming in the future. This latest agreement follows the successful completion of a 16-month proof of concept at one facility.

🔹Amazon Web Services (AWS) has unveiled an immersive showcase to demonstrate its AI-enabled industrial services at this year’s HANNOVER MESSE, taking place this week in Hanover, Germany.

🔹The company demonstrated its AWS for Industrial tech in a video depicting a fictitious e-bike manufacturer, “𝑨𝑾𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒆-𝑩𝒊𝒌𝒆𝒔,” using robots to assemble its bikes and AWS solutions to manage and monitor production.

🔹According to a statement, the manufacturer used AWS tools, including a “𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒚 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒏-𝒇𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒅” 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭, to overcome inventory shortages, production challenges and quality control issues.

Honeywell, a company that builds automation technology for buildings and aircraft, has a plan to create more than $100 million in value from using generative AI, a leading company executive said.

🔹Sheila Jordan, the company’s chief digital technology officer, who helps lead the company’s AI activities, revealed that number during a conversation moderated by VentureBeat at an event in Atlanta last week focused on how generative AI is impacting security.

🔹In follow-up, clarifying remarks, Jordan told VentureBeat that generative AI is already delivering “𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒅𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒔” of net value, meaning the benefit created minus the costs.

🔹 She said this is the net benefit already impacting the company on an annual basis, and that “𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝒐𝒇 $100 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒏” is in “𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕.”
